43 - Roof Cam

Welcome!

Welcome to thirty-two eleven (”3211”). This newsletter will entail: 3 Reads, 2 Rabbit Holes, 1 Watch, and 1 Listen — 3/2/1/1. Detailing what I have been up to, on the internet.

3 reads:

1 - The definition of YOLO, a 104 year old woman became the oldest person to skydive. A little over a week later, she unfortunately passed.

2 - Bijan Robinson, the electric rookie running back for the Atlanta Falcons has been generating head turning highlights early this season. The Atlanta Falcons are in a perfect position with a great media team featuring the new “roof cam". This article goes into detail on how the roof cam works.

For reference:

3 - Big fan of Trung Phan’s newsletter Satpost. I plan on diving into these podcasts he writes about for runs.

A few highlights:

The Explorer’s Podcast: A podcast examining the lives, explorations and discoveries of history's greatest explorers. Top episodes include Apollo 11, Ernest Shackleton, and Christopher Columbus among others.

The Big Picture’s mini series called “Do We Get To Win This Time”. The overarching theme is on the public's mood about the Vietnam war and how it has been heavily influenced by Hollywood films.

2 rabbit holes:

1 - Meta’s Next Gen AI Personas. Essentially Meta is paying celebrities for their “likeliness” and creating AI alter egos on social media. These alter egos are fully AI generated figures that will answer questions from fans and become “friends” with their social followings. Top celebrities featured include Kendall Jenner, Tom Brady, and Dwayne Wade among others. Very creepy.

2 - Netflix for AI generated content. More signs of what is possible in the world of media for artificial intelligence.

1 watch / 1 listen +:

1 - I recently went to a concert with Sam Barber, Drayton Farley, and Nolan Taylor. The format was awesome. Instead of two openers playing following by the main act, all three sat on stools next to each other and exchange 2 songs at a time. Drayton Farley sounds exactly like Jason Isbell, in fact he recently has been touring with the 400 unit (Jason Isbell’s band). A few of their best songs:

An interesting business is Western AF (Drayton Farley’s video), the company that makes these videos for country artists in the woods. Offering the HD video, sound recording, and different angles for up and coming artists. Seems like a pretty cool job and lucrative business.

Cheers,
