Welcome!
Welcome to thirty-two eleven (”3211”). This newsletter will entail: 3 Reads, 2 Rabbit Holes, 1 Watch, and 1 Listen — 3/2/1/1. Detailing what I have been up to, on the internet.
introduction:
Been a bit. NFL season has started. Go Birds.
3 reads:
1 - RTO causing problems.
2 - A growing footwrar brand on social media. Kane Footwear advertises “recovery footwear” shoes, one wears these post workout or during an ice bath/sauna. Most of their sponsored athletes are triathletes, crossfit, or runners. Started by a former Johns Hopkins lacrosse player, pretty interesting.
3 - Creepy but cool - Human organs are being grown in pigs.
2 rabbit holes:
1 - NIL (Name, Image, and Likeliness) is getting out of hand. This was an interesting article written by BBC about the business as a whole. I thought it gave a good perspective coming from a news source not based in the United States.
2 - Colorado is a NIL stronghold, led by head coach and former NFL star Deion Sanders. Coach Sanders started at Jackson State University from 2020 - 2022, a school not traditionally know for football. However, due to his NFL football career and attention tons of top recruits committed to Jackson State with NIL dollars pouring in. He then moved over to be the head coach at Colorado this year. They recently beat formerly #17 ranked TCU, Sanders son Shedeur led the charge at QB. He is now raking in NIL dollars.
Shedeur Sanders is now projected to make $3.8M through NIL this season.
That is up $2.5M dollars from before his breakout game against TCU.
Sanders’ projected NIL earnings is over $2M more than Dak Prescott’s base salary this season ($1,700,000).
Nearly $3M more than Joe… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
