025 - Slippers

Welcome!

Welcome to thirty-two eleven (”3211”). This newsletter will entail: 3 Reads, 2 Rabbit Holes, 1 Watch, and 1 Listen — 3/2/1/1. Detailing what I have been up to, on the internet.

introduction:

Anthony Da Mello was an Indian Jesuit priest and psychotherapist. A spiritual teacher, writer, and public speaker, de Mello wrote several books on spirituality and hosted numerous spiritual retreats and conferences. Last year I read his book "Awareness", I highly recommend it for perspectives on life. Came across this quote of his, thought I would share:

“To a disciple who was forever complaining about others, the Master said, ‘If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not other people. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the whole of the earth.’”

3 reads:

1 - Hot Ones is a great show. From a small YouTube channel to being streamed on HBO Max, it has been very cool to see the growth of this show and brand as a whole. If you like hot wings, or watching celebrities eat hot wings check it out.

Click on "popular" to see the most watched episodes on YouTube.

2 - Super interesting niche - Kosher food. For those who practice keeping kosher around Jewish holidays, they come across a debacle when the food for their pets is not kosher. The answer? A select few companies making a killing by selling kosher dog food.

3 - The future of farming is tech. Reading how Florida Crystals, one of the largest growers of sugar cane in the U.S. is using technology to expand is pretty interesting.

2 rabbit holes:

1 - Inherited money is the most common for young billionaires. Only a few have made it from ground up.

2 - This dude only ate potatoes for 2 weeks.

1 watch:

1 - There is a "doomsday" bunker in the Norwegian Arctic holding seeds to almost every plant in the world. Just in case things get a lil out of hand.

1 listen:

1 - Aviate - Valentine.

Cheers,
