014 - Ikigai

Welcome!

Welcome to thirty-two eleven (”3211”). This newsletter will entail: 3 Reads, 2 Rabbit Holes, 1 Watch, and 1 Listen — 3/2/1/1. Detailing what I have been up to, on the internet.

introduction:

Started a new book, Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Hector Garcia. The book goes into detail on the longest living communities in the world. He emphasizes a sense of community and knowing your Ikigai as components to living the longest. Ikigai is the convergence of four areas of life: what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.

3 reads:

1 - Artificial Intelligence is starting to guess protein makeups.

2 - Farmers are using VR to make their cows produce more milk.

3 - The history of ice.

2 rabbit holes:

1 - Tim Ferriss' Fear Setting Exercise.

2 - Names that decreased in popularity from 2020 to 2021

1 watch:

1 - Live stream of a watering hole in the Namib Desert (Southwest Africa). Pretty cool sometimes you'll get lucky and see Animals getting something to drink.

Cheers,
